Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. of Phoenix, AZ was contacted by a local general contractor that was preparing to do a tenant buildout on one of the spaces for the new terminal at the Sky Harbor Airport. The general contractor on this project was in the planning process and needed to have all of the rebar and concrete beams identified so they could adjust their core holes accordingly. This particular slab at the airport was constructed with multiple concrete beams that you could not easily see. GPRS was able to come out and scan particular locations where the plans called for holes to be cored through the elevated slab for new mechanicals to be installed. We identified all rebar and beams that were in the slab as indicated by the image to the right. This gives the contractors a clear image of what is located in the slab so they can easily avoid everything when they start coring the holes throughout this space. Please don’t take the risk of coring holes without having them GPR’d first.

All data findings are marked directly on the surface at the customer’s request for the easiest interpretation of the scanning provided, with GPR there is no wait for developing films as with traditional x-ray.
