Ground Penetrating Radar Used to Locate Rebar Within Pan Deck

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. - GPRS - of Arizona was contacted by a major national general contractor to locate rebar within a pan deck concrete slab in Phoenix, Arizona. This Phoenix, Arizona project required the core drilling of the concrete slab to allow for installation of new conduit lines. It was essential to avoid hitting and damaging all structural rebar as well as to locate any conduit that was within the concrete slab.

With Ground Penetrating Radar Systems' trusted history of accurately locating structural steel within concrete on dozens of previous projects for this major contractor, GPRS was immediately called upon for this work which was scheduled for an after hours’ time frame. GPRS arrived on site, working from 10:00pm to 3:00am, providing digital concrete imaging (ground penetrating radar) to provide illustrations marked directly on site in real time, to provide an accurate mapping of the rebar beneath the concrete surface. GPRS was able to identify the high and low sections of the pan deck to help determine the best location to core drill. This provided just what the contractor needed, so that they were able to safely core drill though the wall without compromising any structural integrity.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. is very familiar with working closely with countless major commercial projects and contractors.
